Not going to happen..sorry, it's already law and backed by a congressional mandate.
"What’s more, the timing does not bode well for anyone hoping to slow or stop the rollout of the ELD rule.
The mandate kicks in five months from now. So, for the committee’s directive to have any impact, a final THUD bill would have to be passed by both the House and Senate and signed into law by President Trump no later than mid-October.
But wait – then the full Congress would still have to pass and get signed a separate bill (based on what the DOT report finds) directing DOT to delay or reverse the mandate."

I agree.....unfortunately. There never was a law......doctor can not force me
to take a $5000.00 sleep study......but the doctor doesn't have to give me a
medical card either.
I am on the fence about requiring the test. I fought against taking the test
but now that I went through the whole mess, and am on a CPAP machine......I have
to admit that it is definitely helping me. Better sleep isn't just about not being
sleepy the next day. Better sleep allows the body to function better. For example
the kidneys, the liver, etc do some of what they do while I am sleeping. If I don't
sleep well, they don't work well, which causes other problems.
I think we need to test drivers who have the signs......but I think the process
needs to be made easier, and definitely cheaper. We need a universal system
that all doctors have to comply with. This thing of every different doctor
playing different games with my money and my career is wrong. Face it,
the doctor has my career in his hand-------no medical card, no job.Jeck, Brandt and UsualSuspect Thank this. -
We've had to delete a few posts in here, so let's keep the political figure commentary out of the thread and keep it about the regulations, please

...so you want to play the "environmentalist" card? Paper biodegrades, electronics do not. Trees grow back, the stuff required to make electronics do not. If carbon dioxide is the problem the tree-huggers claim it is then young, vigorously growing forests ought to be sought after as they sequester more carbon through the process of photosynthesis than a stagnant old growth forest...so managing the forests in a way that keeps them producing by cutting out the old and reseeding with new should be a priority. Once those old trees are removed, it would be wasteful NOT to use them to make lumber, paper, etc...

I agree, 100% sounds like my sarcasm was perhaps, misunderstood or am I misunderstanding myself?
btw harvested old growth forests are replaced with new growth forests. which takes time to reach a point where they can be harvested. the old growth consumed can never be replaced.
attempts are made to recycle the other materials that cannot sprout from a seed to be harvested, in time, once again.
the quality of old growth is gone -
