Because some aren't sure of the regs, so they put everything. Kind of monkey see, monkey do.

There was another thread started on this yesterday. I thought I was getting deja vu until I seen the dates. :)

Some states require you to display the last 6 or 8 of your vin#.
Some states also require the gvw to be displayed.
MC# is not required to be displayed. They look everything up by your dot# now.

so I'm reading you only need mc# with the letters USDOT in front

The identification number issued by FMCSA to the motor carrier or intermodal equipment provider, preceded by the letters "USDOT

The mc# & dot# are two different numbers.
The mc# is your for hire operating authority number.
The dot# is what all carriers have to have, regardless of whether you are private or for hire.
Just make sure you get the right number for the dot number.

"Fire extinguisher inside" on the side or door where it is.......

And on product labels...... now must be atleast 65mm where there was no requirement before.

And on placards, there are some red ones running around with black group # and a black fire symbol, these are illegal. They are also undersize at 8 3/4 ". You will be ticketed.

    FYI....

I have a rented sub truck that I will use until my leased Ryder is repaired. The repair is taking longer than expected. How many days can I operate the sub before lettering needs to be applied? I've heard "one week", "one month" and all other kinds of horsesh__. Can anyone answer this in simple terms?
