The thing about diabetes and the FMCSA regulations is they are about control. A fasting Blood Sugar reading that shows control should never be higher then 140. Readings much above this figure show diabetes that's out of control. This will cause things to bleed out into your urine that can be detected by the strip test. However it is like I said in my first post in this thread. YOU do not want your Blood Sugar to be out of control EVER. Fasting just to get that card then going back to your normal eating patterns is not healthy and may cause you to go blind at some point. I know several now ex truck drivers that did this and today are legally blind from Diabetic retinopathy. Please drivers, if you have diabetes get this under control 100% of the time. YOU can't afford to lose your job because of a medical issue with your eyes. I suspect there are other drivers that know now ex drivers that are now legally blind from out of control diabetes.

Consume all that water that you are speaking about before your test and you will get a positive dilute on the UA. Need to watch out for that.

One other thing about numbers. I don't think the FMCSA specifies a certain number blood sugar reading. I have searched and can find only something about a 10% A1C. I am a diabetic that currently takes Lantus shots and my Dr gets on me if my A1C gets much over a 6. Last time I did blood work it was a 6.
