If your blood pressure is running high and you don't want to take prescription meds, then find a Vitamin World and get some Hawthorn Berry. Taking niacin with it will help. It will usually lower your blood pressure in a few days. Take one pill twice a day with plenty of water. It is natural and works. It is also much less expensive that prescription medications and without the side effects. You will also not have high blood pressure on your medical. You may also want to change your diet and try to get some exercise.

I just took the DOT physical yesterday. I hesitate to call it a physical really............ Let me tell you that if you can't pass that then you really shouldn't be behind the wheel. There is absolutely nothing demanding about it. My Mother is 71 and she could have passed it by a wide margin.........

    misterG and Meltom Thank this.

Garlic and onion are both good for blood pressure.

Last time I took a DOT physical I just came from a wine tasting (yeah, I was really bright). Passed everything except that stupid find the numbers and dot circle thing. Turns out I have red and green deficiencies.
As far as this goes, I don't care how you treat your BP just so long as you are treating it. But the suggestion to change your diet and get some exercise is something that most everyone should consider.

Changing the diet....and exercise - I'm not overdoing it, running any marathons, or crazy stuff like that... but my BP was 138/90 when I came off the road a little over a month ago. I was checked last week and I'm at 117/72 - JUST getting away from the truckstop food, double meat cheeseburgers, slices of pizza, candy bars... all that stuff, and walking a mile or so a day did that - nothing else.

In 5 weeks. try it, I dare you.
