Yes they still do, It's more of a forced whisper.
-
The hearing portion of my DOT physical 2 days ago consisted of the practitioner standing about 12 feet away and whispering the word "ninety-nine". I heard and repeated the word and I passed that portion of the physical. -
Not like BP medication has any real side effects. Libido maybe, that's kind of a bummer lol. But hey you're a trucker so you don't get any anyway.

From what I hear everyone has described something similar to what you described. Oh and don't feel bad for steering this in a different direction. Ask any questions you got, I don't know anything so my answers will suck but usually someone will chime in with something helpful.

12 feet? ####. Hope I can hear that. If not, I'll be headed to a audiologist because the next step would be hearing aids from what he said few years back. Sad thing is, I hear things fine. And in a forced whisper is a real soft whisper or sorta loud but not loud? May sound dumb, but if its a soft whisper well #### i aint gonna hear it (i dont think).
As well I just went to the eye doctor, they said I am 20/20 but apparently they said I still need glasses for a astigmatism which I've never really had a problem with? But glasses only set me behind 30$ bucks behind with Transitional and some Anti-glare thing. Wasn't really considering getting glasses but 30$ bucks for everything I couldn't beat.
Ya'll might find it weird that I am going to through all of this prior to even taking a DOT Physical, but I want to be sure that I will pass because this is something I tend to make my lifestyle and I do not need set backs prior to schooling. -
Really I would not worry about it at all. I was louder than a true whisper and softer than a normal tone of voice. Unless you are truly deaf, I think you will have no problem hearing it.
-
Alright, thank you for the info Elendil. I really appreciate it. And everyone else who has given me information leading me to understand more and more about this industry and what to expect, ya'll are truly amazing.

I've heard of drivers with high to borderline BP have taken Viagra the morning of their Physical and pass. I think I'll just stick to Lisinopril 10 mg.

Wonder what the doctor would think if he's poking around on you and finds out you've got a woody? Think I'd rather have the high BP than for the old quack to think I was attracted to him.
