If your test is positive, the doctor will call you for an explanation, if it is negative, they will not. It's the old adage, "no news is good news."
Test results typically take a week or two, depending on the lab.

The cutoff concentration is 50/ng. If it is below this level then the lab must report as negative. If it is at or above this level then the lab must do a confirmation test, the cutoff for the confirmation test is 15/ng. (DOT Rule 49CFR Part 40 Section 40.87)

Tons of drivers smoke....shouldn't be a problem.

 

had one screen, the girl took a small sample and placed it in a vial. I asked her what that was about, she said pre screen. if it fails there, they let you know right away. that was quite a few years ago though. Not sure if they do that anymore, or if it was normal across the board.

it wouldn't be a good thing either way. a fail is still a fail.
