dot physical/drug testing question

well I hope I hear something from the school they have to tell me where driving class is at lol im not going to a regular truck driving school I am going threw a technical college to take there driving program I still have to take my mvr up there and proof of Georgia residency for 1 year up there so I will probably wait till a few days after the test to take it and I should find out then

 

I know everyone didn't do the same things as a teen some were into destruction of property some were into shoplifting some were into getting high some fighting and etc but we all did dumb stupid things in our teens and I do believe that

 

Don't get me wrong, I smoked the hell out of pot through high school and through most of my twenties. If it wasn't for random drug tests I'd still be smoking.

 

I don't know if I can say that I smoked most my life away and I am very happy now that im not smoking im more clearer and my head isn't as heavy guess I was lucky tho I never lost a job on count of it never had to steal for it never got into any trouble at all and never acted crazy while I did it I like to think of my self like the old bellamy brothers song old hippie lol

 

Nope I wasn't....BUT...I had enough sense and enough self respect to not ever smoke dope, or drink.....remember silverdrifter....it's all about choices man....drinking and driving , smoking dope , taking illegal drugs are choices......always choices....like elections choices have consequences.....ALWAYS....

 

so none of the things you did was a choice then someone put a gun too your head and forced you to do it everything is a choice no matter what it is or how stupid it is

 

Everything you do has a choice in it somewhere.....except for your bodies involuntary actions like breathing....I did lots of really stupid stuff as a young man...lots! You made some really bad choices in your younger days....and they are coming back on you now.....at the time you made the choice to smoke dope I'm sure that you weren't coerced at gun-point to do it. You made that choice and now it's turning out to be a problem for you.....you can't say you were not aware of those potential problems...you knew smoking dope was illegal...BUT CHOSE to do it anyway...you'll get no sympathy from me....

 

Not asking for no sympathy from you or anyone all I asked was a question that is what this forum is for right . And no it isn't coming back to haunt me now either I'm clean now and I can pass the drug test I have changed my life around so much over the past years .You do seem like the type who looks down on everyone who doesn't live life by you book tho and that is a really sad thing

 

i like TONY A LOT...but when you have ppl that have never done drugs...they are harsh on those of us who have...and thats ok...i understand...but just cuz i WAS a druggie..doesnt make me a bad person.....

it means i was a person who made some bad choices in my life and finally got my head on straight...

most of the people on here would have never known had i not said something....

we all make mistakes....some of us are just better at it than others....

 

I have looked on here for my answer and couldn't find it so if I'm asking a question someone already had a post on I'm sorry I have my dot physical and drug test coming up next week not for employment yet but to start school I know they will tell me if I pass the dot physical before I leave but when will I get to know the results of the drug test? will they tell me that too before I leave and also if anyone knows will smoking cigs stop a company from hiring you?

I failed a drug test when I was like 17 or 18 for a job in a store and I got a dui when I was 19 which doesn't show up on my mvr and I stopped drinking then but all that has been close to 20 years ago I moved portable buildings for the last 10 years and was never drug tested

Sorry if I sound harsh...but for a good part of your life you made really bad choices....really bad ones....now you come on a forum and ask for help...help isn't the problem...you can find it here and lots of it...I'll try and give you all of the help that "I" possibly can....but it's the way you ask that I have a problem with...the mistake thing...It disgusts me to hear a habitual user come on this forum and whine about about having a hard time getting hired or trying to find a way to circumvent the system , and get a job driving. This industry has gone into the toilet because of this crap........
