DOT Physical Question - Do I have to duck walk?

I was told like if you had high blood pressure they would issue you like a 30 or 60 day card so you can go to the doctor and get bp medicine so why wouldn't they do that to give you time to go get glasses ? I can see pretty good close up but I do have some problems seeing far off is why I was asking my physical is too just get in driving school it isn't for a company

 

That's correct. I have seen a few people get the 90 day and I have seen guys sent home. All from the same orientation.

 

I just want to say you guys are so helpful and I want to thank each and every one of you I will most likely pass everything I can see the big letters but it is the letters at the very bottom of the eye chart I worry about I get nervous and I worry about the least little thing

 

Once when renewing my Physical I failed eye exam even with glasses. Seems I needed to update my prescription. They gave me 2 year cert with me promising to get new glasses in the near future. Didn't even check up on me if I did or not, but still I got them anyways so I'd be all set for the next one in 2 years after that one.

 

On the Snellen chart the 5th line down is 20/40 and what you need to pass. So walk up close and remember it.
Line 8 is 20/20 and considered perfect vision.

Vision is usually pass/fail. Make sure it's 20 feet too. I had one doctor I told him this is kind of far. He said no, it's the required 20 feet. Having worked in construction I said why is there 25 one foot tiles in between your chart and the line then? He look at me funny and made me move closer.

What do you look like when you go under a trailer to inspect the brake linings and such? Or do you carry a mechanic's creeper?
