I was also in your shoes. I have high blood pressure and was only given a 1 year medical card. Soon after i started taking purified fish oil pills every day(i dont believe in medications) and retook my test after 1 year and passed with flying colors. i highly urge you to try the fish oil out as its very good for your heart as well as the rest of your body. i couldnt do without it. good luck.

Totally off, I'm 6'5, weigh 270, and at least 50 lbs out of the optimum BMI. I'm not worried about my weight because it's been hovering at what I weight now for a few years, and I have been able to replace some of the flab with muscle, and run a mile without stopping.

My blood pressure and heart rate are below average, and I attribute that to exercise and some zen.

Your high blood pressure shows that you need to lose weight pretty bad, not so you can become another pear shaped truck driver, but so that you don't die at 35 from heart failure. The high blood pressure is a symptom, not the disease.

Happyfeet i agree with you about me needing to lose weight because you are right but thats all i agree with you lol. I want to weigh 260 because ive weighed as low as 215 and 260 fits me right. I also can run a mile without stopping but im working on two miles without stopping. Anyways im cursed with bad genes as my dad will die from heart problems my grandpa died from heart problems my older brother is only 6'1 140 lbs and his bp is worse then mine. My goal is to just drive make money stay away from the cookies chips and soda and ill be alright. And somehow quit this smoking crap.

Same here, im 6'0 250 lbs, but i also have more muscle than the average guy thanks to 13+ years of doing foundations, concrete work, and sports. i dont have high blood pressure because im out of shape, i have it because im french and its really typical in my family. Again, really give the fish oil supplements a shot and i guarantee you will notice a big change. Make sure it's high quality purified fish oil and not some generic wal-mart crap.
