Everything on the DOT physical is spelled out on the long form. I've had some Doctors in past years want to do a prostate check. It's not on the long form. They cannot deviate. The duck walk isn't on there either. (as of 9/'09).

I just did my renewal today and passed it! Now all I need to do is get the brain fixed so I can get back to work! Before you ask I had to do it because my CDL expires tomorrow! bad information from the state told me that because I'm dropping the useless hazmat background check I didn't have to renew the CDL until close to my birthday but that was bad info so I had to scramble!
A physical only covers eye site, hearing, touch your toes or get close to them! It also covers a squat (1 time) reflexes with the rubber hammer to the knee, liver check and hernia which is the turn you head and cough while he's down close to your "junk"
It also covers your meds you are on, listening to your breathing and heart, your blood pressure weight and height.
That's about the extent of the DOT/FMCSA mandated test.
All the physical crap like climbing onto a table duck walking and lifting weights is for a physical aptitude test that some companies and their insurance companies require so you don't sue the crapola doing what we all do when working round the trucking world.BigJohn54 Thanks this.
