I said that it's the first step, not the ONLY step. We are starting to see progress in it's legalization.
It's true that private companies can use whatever policy that they want, but consider that their policy is based on the fact that pot is illegal. And there already are other testing methods that can determine how recently you've used it. The mouth swab test can only go back a few days, if they simply want to make sure that their drivers aren't under the influence, then that should be good enough.

I just have to laugh at all the pot smokers trying to defend this crap.
If you want to whine and ##### and moan about a drug test, or how to get around it, then perhaps trucking isn't the industry for you.
That being said, perhaps you're smarter than Lance Armstrong...T...Street and Lilbit Thank this. -
There is nothing any more condemnable about using an herb than using some other more dangerous, synthetic, psychotropic drugs just because they have a label on it. -
They DO have every right to do it. Just not in this profession. There's no room for it.
T...Street and Lilbit Thank this. -
900,000-tons-of-steel, dirtyjerz and bender Thank this.

And most psychotropic also disqualify you from driving. That argument is invalid
Lilbit Thanks this. -
smoked it 40 days ago? how long did you partake in smoking marijuana in the past? weedheads are just like alcoholics in this industry. it is just a matter of time until they say well maybe one joint or one drink wont matter, i never see a cop. then your stopped at the very least before you kill someone.
do us all a favor and go elsewhere. i drive in a defensive manner, and i like to go home all the time. the thought of someone out there adding to the chaos by not thinking is just too much. do us all a favor.................smoke it up and stay at home.T...Street Thanks this. -
Booze is a much worse problem than pot, I think in the interest of safety they should pull the licenses of the drinkers as well.
bender Thanks this. -

They disqualify you from driving while under the influence of them.
The way that they're testing pot users, they can't use it AT ALL even if they took a week off, and smoked a bowl.
