You drink coffee? Man has altered his consciousness one way or the other since the beginning of time and no law is going to change this inherent trait in humans. Some do it by substances, others by exercise or meditation and others by -religion-. I don't begrudge or judge anyone for doing anything they want to do on their own time until it has the potential to affect others.

That's just a plain old stupid point of view. Most of us know that weed does not effect your abilities weeks after you've smoked some dope. But get into an accident where someone gets killed at no fault of yours and you get tested. Your now positive with a fatality accident. You get charged and might do some time. One thing for sure you'll never drive a truck again and that's why it's just stupid to use a illegal substance and drive a truck. So who really is the "Igorant" one here?

Yep, it's simply not worth it. As you indicate, get in an accident, someone dies, even if it isn't your fault, if it shows in a test, you're considered driving-under-the-influence and you're going to do time.

No...that's a flaw in the law. What I said in my comment is completely reasonable.

It is the law that doesn't acknowledge that the teeniest trace of MJ isn't going to impair the driver one bit.
Now if they tested the driver, and found that he/she had enough in their system to be impaired, then they would be right to let loose the hounds of hell on them.

Certain occupations absolutely forbid drugs. It is often a matter of life and death at any moments notice:

    1) United States Marine Corps - both active duty and reserves

    2) United States Navy - both active duty and reserves

    3) United States Army - both active duty and reserves

    4) United States Air Force - both active duty and reserves

    5) State National Guards of all 50 States

    6) All federal, state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies and departments, (including corrections facilities)

    7) Power plants and utility companies throughout the United States of America

    8) Factories, manufacturing plants, machine shops, and various other repair and specialty shops requiring precision and using dangerous tools

    9) Chemical plants and disposal facilities

    10) Many financial institutions and investment companies, stock brokerage firms, banks, insurance companies, Accounting firms, etc.

    11) ALL TRUCKING AND BUS COMPANIES AS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW, POSSIBLY INDIVIDUAL STATE LAWS.

As any RESPONSIBLE truck driver will tell you, you cannot have your head up your @#$.

Also, many truck drivers are either retired from or have , at one time or another, been in the U.S. Military, or have been in law enforcement or corrections, (as corrections officers). These individuals will be FIRST to have an illegal drug user or alcohol abuser ousted from the trucking industry.

God bless every truck driver and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
