I get that, but he is just getting a physical to take back to his home state. As long as the physical is completed by a FMCSA certified practitioner and lists his current DLN (of the state he's certifying in), there shouldn't be any issues.

Anytime you change carriers, many of them are going to want you to take a new physical, they like to kick the tires as well, plus the overwhelming liability factor. I mean I live in AZ, I've worked for carriers in Utah, Arkansas. -
Just make sure the state that has your license from gets a copy of the new physical if not your cdl just went out the door. Then you have to retest
