Crazy thing, the Texas DPS employee asked my why I even put my treated with medication high blood pressure on the application, because, "That just creates more paperwork and now your app for a CLP will have to flagged and reviewed by a manager. That's a federal thing, the state don't care". Made me feel like a fool, not sure if she was full of it and having a bad day or what.

EDIT: My physical was done by a chiropractor, the only certified medical professional in my town of 7k besides the CVS, and they only tested my urine for sugar on the spot. Maybe the rude DPS lady was right, because now I have to retest annually thanks to being honest.

I hope this FMCSA news release does not apply to anyone in these forums.

FMCSA PUBLIC NOTICE: Dr. Kenneth Edwards, Doctor of Chiropractic, Phenix City, Alabama
    March 22, 2018

On February 21, 2018, Dr. Kenneth G. Edwards, Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.), National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (“National Registry”) No. 4114329794, of Phenix City, Alabama, was arrested after being indicted by a Federal Grand Jury. Dr. Edwards was charged with crimes including conspiracy, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, making false statements, and falsification of federal records.

The investigation initiated by the U.S. Department of Transportation determined that while listed as a Certified Medical Examiner on the National Registry, Dr. Edwards exhibited a pattern whereby examinations were incomplete, required tests were not performed, and information on medical examination forms was falsified.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) removed Dr. Edwards from the National Registry on December 5, 2017.

USDOT/FMCSA intends to revoke all medical certificates issued by Dr. Edwards to commercial motor vehicle operators within the past two years.

FMCSA offices nationwide are presently working with State Driver’s Licensing Agencies to obtain the contact information for all affected drivers. FMCSA is contacting these drivers and informing them that they have THIRTY DAYS to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate from a Medical Examiner with valid certification on the National Registry.

Drivers and carriers with further questions should contact USDOT/FMCSA via email at FMCSAMedical@dot.gov
