What are those numbers all about? ................... Never heard of those things............. Yay government, LOL!
Has anyone read the article in Trucker News? They claim the majority of wrecks involving speed are driving too fast for conditions. They also pointed out that the call for limiters were in response to a driver running into someone stopped in a traffic jam. Speed limiters would not have prevented any of those. I agree with previous comments that if the goal is safety, and limiters are the answer, than they need to be applied across the board. Trucks and four wheelers should have the same tech installed. As with everything though the statement "leveling the playing field" was used and the main proponents were megas that already govern their trucks.
Have the 12, 357mag and 45acp 1911. 338 lapua is my next bolt gun when the 308 just isnt enough. Long range is a hobby of mine. Dam near 3/4 MOA at 600yd with my Tikka t3 308 and savage mod 12 .22-250 Other guns in the house: ar-15 5.56 mil spec, sks w/40rd mags, 270, 7mm08, 30-30 and custom 6.5x284 that does 1/4 MOA Pistols/ 357mag, 38sp, beretta 92, glock 22 40 cal, springfield xd9 compact, Para commander size 1911
I couldn't stand the M-16 when I was in the army. I much prefer the old stuff... 30/30, 30.06, 45/70, 45 Colt, etc. I keep hoping I win one of those AR-15 giveaways so I can sell it and get a top line Henry lever gun.
Close, but not quite the same. .223 is fine in a 5.56 gun, but with a slight drop in accuracy. Vice versa on the other hand could prove dangerous due to the 5.56 round being loaded slightly hotter. In the case of the bigger brothers, the civilian .308 Win is the one loaded hotter than it's GI counterpart, the 7.62x51mm. Don't put .308 rounds through a gun marked for 7.62x51.
The AKM was more reliable in the bush, for sure. Seemed like one could roll a track over one and it would still function well. Actually, if I had to choose a favorite, it would be a toss up between the M-14 and the FN-FAL. Probably FN would win out. Was partial to the 7.62 rifles. Wasn't in to "spray and pray" stuff. Controlled fire got the best results and didn't waste a lot of ammo. If I was partial to the 5.56, my choice there would have been the Isreali Galil. AK based but much improved. Darn fine rifle. That long range stuff is neat, but my idea of long range was to make a call to Arty and have them drop a battery of HE on target. But a Ma Deuce would work pretty well also. At least using Arty didn't give away one's position. Keep 'em guessing.
