Today 3/10/2011 is a major DOT RAID IN Texas, i am driving from Arkansas to San Antonio, Tx and i already counted 11 trucks stopped by DOT only 150mi into Texas!!! Crazy. Will it end this week? Are Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama doing the same?

Last week in Illinois (I-55 just south of Joliet) I saw about 6-7 cop cars with trucks pulled over. All were Intermodal so they must have been looking for something. Other than money since the state is broke.

Anything they can make easy money on. Containers are usually quick, easy money. They are never kept up.

Past few years they've been doing these type of mobile inspections alot in Jersy on i80 and NJTP to name a few. Never used to see it at all, but now youll see several DOT trooper trucks with customers one after another in a row. I think thier just getting started. Inspections aint just for weight stations or toll booths anymore.

I think it's on a national level. I just passed through Cali/AZ they seemed to be busy. I think they are doing one of those blitzes again.

Personally I don't see a issue with all the increased DOT inspections. I actually look forward to seeing even more and hope the DOT go after the junk that people want to try and run.
