There is at least one (VDO? I forget) that advertised it does not store anything in the cloud and must be downloaded from the device. That way there is no 3rd party holding on to the data.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Right now not a lot. However the computer kerps a rolling list of the trucks that have beed scanned.
-
Unless the government requires the use of all trucks to be equipped with elogs and find out how screwed up all the different systems are and mandate 1 system only
I wouldn’t sweat it -
Speak for yourself! That was one of the things that sold me on the Garmin...the logs are stored locally. Html files for the individual days saved to my tablet, transfered to my computer...then I print to pdf, and compile 7 days into 1 pdf that's 7 pages long.
Until I email that pdf to the carrier, nobody without access to my tablet or computer has access to my logs. They aren't floating around anywhere in cyberspace or in any cloud controlled by a 3rd party. When I email it to the carrier, they save it in their computer. 6 months later, they hit delete and for all practical purposes they are gone.Hulld Thanks this. -
You can't cheat an honest man, and you can't con a con man.
Paranoimia is as rampant as is the desire to control, or to be controlled.
My only 'mantra' is... Be true to myself.
And then the only question is...
Are YOU grown up enough for... Granny Goose?

That is exactly what the future holds for you. Removing the human factor will generate billions for the gov’t coffers
-
By the time it happens the usa will be another 20 trillion in the hole and the interest rates will have risen and we will be calculating what % of gdp is going to just simply service the crushing debt. So billions won't be but a drop in the bucket. Why the debt continues to grow now, during seemingly good economic times makes no sense to me, leaves me wondering what will happen when it slows again. We are doing the same north of the border. I think the party will come to an abrupt end and it will be very painful for many. But enough of that, I'm just one stupid truck driver...Mudguppy Thanks this.

Is it slaved to your truck?
