look into to Driver temp services. My company uses some temp drivers to fill in the gaps. You can often pick the type of work you will do (local/regional,etc). My experience, their standards aren't too high. It might give you some work.

Hay Waylon, you could always try Trans Am or Carolina Cargo.
ps: For something more local, (you're in Galion, right?) have you checked with R & J trucking in Shelby? They've got 3 other locales in Ohio, as well. Secondly, Fab Express in Mt. Vernon is always hiring.Last edited: Jan 20, 2017

Well,Im not sure what the best solution is.Layed a trailer on its Side, but no citation issued?I understand the idea of doing physical labor isnt very appealing when you're 40 or 50 years old! I think I would be a Yard hostler.Hard to fall asleep when you"re jumping in and out of the truck. Some hostlers get up to $19.50 an hour. Not bad. They probably trashed your DAC when they canned you.JMOG13Tomcat Thanks this.

^^^^ Estes in Mansfield is ALWAYS looking for hostlers. Then you could work back to hauling pups, once you get in with them. They pay well and have great benefits so I hear.
crb and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -
Carolina cargo will hire you also western express.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -

Thanks, everyone, for your advice and input. I genuinely appreciate it.

I'm not asking this out of skepticism, just curiosity. Why would they take me when a lot of others won't?

It always depends on insurance, liability and how desperate they are for a driver. They don't really care about the accident per se, but on a future very expensive lawsuite that they might get. -
So, I got copies of my DAC and TALX reports over the last few days from hireright. The only accident that appears on my DAC report is one from 6 years ago when a lady lost control of her car in bad weather and hit me. (Her boyfriend's brand new car she was delivering to him. I sometimes wonder if they stayed together because she definitely totaled it.) The TALX report is hard to read but from the looks of it, all it covers is my employment history. I'm not sure if this changes anything regarding prospective employment. I've been putting off job applications in anticipation of this information though I am researching companies via these forums in order to prioritize which ones to apply to. I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon dropping apps and hoping for the best.
Side note: In all the years I've been driving, I've never looked at driver's forums. You guys are amazing here. There is an insane amount of helpful information on these pages and a complete lack of attitude. Pat yourselves on the back.G13Tomcat and Toomanybikes Thank this.
