This sounds really strange to me and I would not go.....especially with such short notice and a 30 minute window! WTF!?
Dickeyroberts Thanks this. -
I have heard of them popping up on the yard doing one but not scheduling.

Now I am fairly new to trucking and all the needed inspections & stickers the trucks & trailers need but the company I work for all the road trucks & trailers need to have a yearly DOT inspection with paper work and think sticker. We have a guy that is certified to do them so a DOT person does not need to check them over.
Could this be why you were told to hit a scale for yearly inspection sticker?

Scales don't do the annual inspections
-
Exactly....a mechanic does....preferably your mechanic...that you have established a relationship with. Keep us posted...this is weird.

A level 1 (?) Counts as an anual inspection. Good for one year from the date of inspection.Rock 'n Roll Relocater, mountaingote and mp4694330 Thank this. -
Then why is there a law that says you have to get an annual inspection, and the DOT man wants to see the sticker or the inspection form?
-
Because you need it, but you could just show them your inspection form from the previous level 1 and you would be good.
On another note I got a clean level 1 and never got asked for my annual for the truck and trailer... so much for doing their job. -
They are not certified, they just fill out a form saying that they know what they are doing. Anyone can do an annual inspection. As for DOT not needing to look at the truck or trailer, do you know how many of those things get signed without even looking at the truck?
