@TROOPER to TRUCKER - I hope you know, and think you do, that most truckers really do appreciate LEO being out there. We live on these roads and, without you, this job would be too risky to even contemplate. You keep us as safe out here and for that, I thank you.

That being said, it's easy to understand why truckers, motorists, and general public have a sense of dread when contacted by LEO. We've either done something wrong and are likely about to be ticketed or something bad has just happened to us and we need to report it.

Sadly, nobody ever gets to deal with law enforcement because something awesome just happened.

This cycle, unfortunately, only serves to reinforce negative feelings in both directions. Catch an otherwise polite and professional trucker OR officer on a particularly bad day and it only gets worse.

Personally, whenever I have an interaction with an officer, I try to remember firstly that he is a human being with feelings just like me. Then, if he seems overfly curt or agitated, I try to remember that I have no idea what his day has been like or what his last call involved. If he is to the point, then I am too. If he wants to chat, well then he's found his man.

I don't worry about or even try talking myself out of a ticket because that simply doesn't work. My job is to deliver freight. His job is to cite violations. I just try to make the process go smoother for everyone.

Although, I must say that, so far, I have been let off with warnings on the very few violations I have ever been caught on. Knock on wood, I have never received a citation in a CMV.

Maybe there is something to being nice after all...

"Childish it how one acts not like a derogatory name such as saying one you are a child. Big deference." Means You agree with what was said, I do believe you meant difference, which would indicate the opposite of you disagreeing what was said. Even by LEO's rules you'd be incorrect at this point.

It is what I meant not what I said. Well you got caught with your jeans around your ankles. And Oh by the way this being a public forum means we all have the proverbial dog is any opinion expressed here.

But there is also normally enforced rules against personally attacking, which name calling is considered.

The point is you do not even know what you said, is exactly the point.

Oh, do permit me to join the fray!

@Powder Joints - Your post is so poorly written as to be almost unintelligible.

"Means Y(lower case)ou agree with what was said, (should be period, end of sentence) I do believe you meant difference, which would indicate the opposite of you disagreeing (with) what was said. Even by LEO's rules (needs a comma here) you'd be incorrect at this point.

It is what I meant (needs a comma here) not what I said. Well (needs a comma here) you got caught with your jeans around your ankles.(either no period and lowercase 'a' or remove the 'and') And Oh (needs comma here) by the way(needs a comma here) this being a public forum means we all have the proverbial dog is any opinion expressed here. ( I have no idea what you were trying for with that last sentence. Was it translated from another language?)

But (never begin a sentence with 'but' except in a prepositional phrase to be followed by a comma such as "But for love, all would be in vain.") there is also normally enforced rules against personally attacking, (yaay, comma in the right place) which name calling is considered."

My least favorite police has always been the grammar police!
