Just had a "carrier" double broker a load on me last night. Carrier showed up expecting to pick up 17 pallets and was going to pickup another load to go with it. Needless to say he'll no longer be hauling loads for Landstar.

Large companies like LS have co=brokering arrangements with many different companies. Double brokering is when one of the parties from the shipper to the final broker are not in agreement to the arrangement. Completely legal.

Double brokering is when a load is brokered more than once without agreement from one of the parties up the line. This is not allowed.

Most have no idea what the arrangement is.
