Starting to get the shifting now....

Time behind the wheel,&paying attention to the speed and rpm's of fellow trainees - absorb what does and does not work for them and implementing the good data when behind the wheel...

KISS IMO it's about RPM's. 250 split on the upshift and 500 on the downshift.

It really is the most intimate interaction between man and machine that we have left, in a world where even our toilets and sinks are automatic.
You will have a light bulb moment in the coming days, I guarantee it. A good rule of thumb with modern engines is bring it up to about 1500 rpm, clutch, neutral, all while watching your tach, and grab the next gear at about 1100 rpm. And reverse it on the downshift. 1100 and 1500 were helpful reference points for me.
And trust me, make it through the test, and when you don't have someone watching, it'll become so much easier. Just wait until you start floating gears well. You'll wonder why you spent so much time worrying about double-clutching... And then when you're on hometime and your wife yells at you for not flushing because you're used to the bowl flushing itself, you'll know youve made it. LOL
