Anyone know what the weight difference between double frame and single frame is? Or how much weight per inch or foot a frame is?.... Bought a truck that's 290" wb with full double frame, want to know how much extra weight I have compared to if it was just single framed
Steel weighs 40lbs per square foot at 1 inch thick. Easy enough to calculate. How thick is the insert, how wide is the flange, how tall is the web (vertical part of the rail) and how long is the insert? Wheelbase is usually measured from center of the steer axle to the midpoint of the drive axle group. If they are full length inserts they'll be longer than 290"
