A 28-year-old Kansas City man was sentenced today to two life sentences plus 498 years for murdering two Northland residents during a home invasion.
Prentiss R. Fulton was convicted in October of 10 felonies, including two counts of first-degree murder, for the December 2006 deaths of 22-year-old Patrick Hooton and 18-year-old Angela Windle.
Jurors also found Fulton guilty of two counts of first-degree assault, one count of first-degree robbery and five counts of armed criminal action.
Circuit Court Judge Larry D. Harman sentenced Fulton to two life sentences without parole in the murders. He sentenced Fulton to 99 years on each of the two assault convictions and 75 years for each of the four armed criminal action charges. Harman ordered that the sentences run consecutively.
Prosecutors alleged that Fulton killed Hooton and Windle during a home robbery in the 4200 block of Northeast 44th Street. He shot and critically injured a 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman in the home while getting away with a home safe and laptop computer, prosecutors said.
A witness told police that the house was a drug house and that drugs and money were kept in the safe, according to a probable cause statement.
