I haven’t seen a rotary pump on a medium duty. I did have a dodge with a rotary pump. It was decent, never gave me problems. It just wasn’t as capable of the power as a p pump. I guess I should preference I haven’t seen a rotary pump on a 360. Lots of them on the 444.

The only rotary pump I have seen on ih dt engines is an American bosch model 100….not saying others weren’t used but I’ve never seen them. And if a guy knows what he’s doing with one it will flow enough fuel to melt that engine for very little money. For several thousand dollars you can get 600+ccs from one. I run one on a modified dt466 in a pulling tractor. For the most part the dts I’ve seen with inline pumps were bosch mw pumps…I think some off road apps use a pumps I don’t think many if any dts used p pumps. However the way the part of the timing cover where pump mount is designed it would be very easy to put any pump on it with minimal machine shop capabilities.
I guarantee that a dt will compete with a 5.9 especially if you keep them both under 3000 rpm which is in my opinion too fast for anything more than a toy.AModelCat, ElmerFudpucker, BoxCarKidd and 1 other person Thank this. -
There was also the electronic control sleeve inline pump. That didn't last long. Right before the E models. -
I've done a few injection pumps on B series DT engines and they were all Ambac rotary pumps.
The C series DT's I've come across were inline injection pumps. I found a service bulletin a while back that Case started using the C series engines in their ag equipment sometime in the early to mid 80's and that one of the changes from the B to C series was the switch to a Bosch inline pump. -

I believe they made an E model at some point as well.
I didn't know there were B and C models until last summer when I pulled an injection pump on an old TD15 dozer and the service book refered to the engine as a DT466B.ElmerFudpucker Thanks this. -
