There are videos all over YouTube on how to do it but until you do it they’re all worthless in my opinion.

While upshifting, learn what gear corresponds with what speed, so when you will be downshifting, just glance at the speedometer and put it in the gear that's needed

opposite when you upshift

On the average for split side (5 -12 or 6-13, or 5l to 8h, whichever you want to call it) roughly 200-250 rpm up or down
On the low side, on the average 350-500 rpmTug Toy Thanks this. -
I would say 1,200 and 1,600 RPMs. Because it's usually 400 RPMs between full gears, not using the splitter. When slowing down and the RPMs hit 1,200 RPMs you go to neutral then raise the RPMs to 1,600 and it should go into gear.

nobody gonna be able to tell you how to do it. Sure you can be told the concept. Its something you will pick up while you are alone and all by yourself while out on the road

Silly question but if you can downshift with a clutch then shift at same rpm without one.PS rookies should get familiar with shifting before starting to float gears. The clutch is a shock absorber that helps prevents damage to driveline.

What rpm depends on engine and transmission... Older trucks will require higher rpms than these newer ones.
Best thing is to watch a u-tube video or spend some time with someone to help you. It's not something that is easy to explain with just words... You have to see, feel, and hear it.gentleroger and BigBob410 Thank this.
