"prosidius, post: 5552986, member: 184647"]I don't recall if the jake was on. The roads I tried to downshift on were flat with no down/upgrade. I'm not engaging the clutch brake while downshifting, no.

    My process for downshifting goes:

    1.) Clutch, shift to neutral
a.) If I know I'm going way too fast, I'll hit the brakes before clutching to neutral.
2.) Rev RPMs to about 1500.
3.) Clutch, try for lower gear.

^^brake to 1100 give or take, clutch, neutral, clutch gear, all in one motion. Like a 4 count for dancing

a.) If gear won't engage, brake a bit, rev engine and try again.
a.) If gear still won't engage, try for the same gear I just left or even a higher gear.

^^ same or higher? After several braking actions? Confirm please.

a.) All else fails, stop and start from scratch

You're taking too much time for everything
    You're confusing the truck
It doesn't know what you're trying to do
    Don't hang around in neutral
    Bump it and keep moving.
    Make the truck your #####
    Not the other way around.

Yea, but I got my cdl yesterday... I've double clutched for the last time lol. Drove the truck back from DPS and floated the whole way back. Shifted in intersections. Unstoppable lol

I also suspect you're over juicing it
Just a small rev during your bump through neutral

As soon as you feel neutral give it a slight rev and keep a little pressure on the shifter toward the gear
Let it slide in on it's own
    Don't force it
