Doesn't Detroit clean their reman DPF with a "proprietary" aqueous based solution? Cummins reman ones that were only baked and blowed rarely made it over a year. I wouldn't go to trouble of pulling DPF unless part of the cleaning regiment involves a water or ultrasonic method to break up the plugged up ash.

I’m running the aftermarket DPF. Your supposed to have it cleaned every year regardless of mileage to keep the warranty in effect. I’ve had mine baked 3 times and the last one I had “Dipped” like mentioned above. Seems the “Dipped” cleaned it the best compare to the other times I had it baked.spsauerland Thanks this.

I have looked ALL over my truck and still cant find a DPF
Bakerman Thanks this. -
depend on engine some dpfs may go up to 300k miles and some of them 120-150k miles. if engine makes more soot you will need to clean it every year. little crack on cac or hauling always light loads will plug up dpf faster. if dpf is ash packed within a year that may indicate that engine is making more soot.

It's my understanding that the cleaner the fuel burns in the combustion chamber, the less soot and DPF problems. Is this true?Diesel Dave and mhyn Thank this.

tip for DD15 owners. when truck is in shop for dpf cleaning ask mechanic to remove pipe that goes to 1 box. inspect yourself to see is there excessive soot inside of that pipe. there must be thin layer(1-2mm) of soot inside of pipe.
