The pre egr trucks are getting long in the tooth and parts are becoming difficult to source, I sold a DEF truck because it would go down from time to time for unscheduled DEF related issues occasionally. When it had these problems they were costly and parts were difficult to source.
I want to purchase a truck from a simpler time, before DEF. I wanted to inquire about DPF from the 2008/2010 era. I am aware of the existence of a 7th injector that cooks the DPF and the dpf system eventually gets clogged regardless of how you drive it.
I would like to ask if there are any experts who have perfected the art of DPF maintenance. They've been on the road for 15 years atleast now and I want to learn how to maintain this thing, if anyone has devoted themselves to this era of trucking emissions.
