I personally have no problem with drafters. I'm not the one who will end up with a trashed vehicle, a fist full of tickets, and an increase in my insurance premiums. As for getting hurt , that's a low probability. By the time you hit me I'll probably have only lost 10 to 20 miles per hour. Enough to totally ruin your day.

That's what I'm afraid of... though the likelihood is low, there's the possibility that the car could cause me to go off the road, resulting in a trashed truck. And all too often, it seems they look for a way to blame the trucker even when the trucker isn't at fault.

I hate drafters! LOL! Yesterday was trying to make a turn and this little car wouldn't get off my rear! I slowed down to 25 MPH on the highway, waiting for them to go around, then pulled over on the shoulder (my tail end would wipe em off the road if I turn while they're passing) the guy is still not going around so I have to come to almost a complete stop, almost missed being able to swing out for my turn.........gripe, gripe and a few more other words!

I would really prefer for all drafters / tailgaters to get off my #####. I could really care less what could / should / would happen to them if I had to break abruptly, BUT I DO care about the fact that their actions are jeopardizing my investment in my families livelihood.

i used to draft in my 4 wheeler then i joined the army. now i cant draft (to paranoid) and hate tailgaters with a passion. now ill take my foot off the accelerator and wait till they pass me to put it back on, unless theres heavy traffic and were stop and go and being that close is actualy safe.

I dont mind running the front door for a 4 wheeler but give me a little room. The main reason, you won't be able to see hazards ahead and will have less time to react to the situation if you are counting the cracks in my DOT bumper. I give respect where I get it.
Oh, by the way, I flash my hazards at someone to thank them for letting me over usually. Not to tell them to get lost.
    Be safe out there.

Following too closely may become the norm, given gas prices are heading for 5 bucks a gallon. This isn't the worse thing you can do, though. Cars passing on the right is something that pissed me off more than just about anything else. Drivers cutting me off is about the only thing that made me madder.

On a multi lane road with a slow poke hogging up the center lanes what is your plan for passing?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You only drove governed trucks at 65 so it was pretty hard getting up enough speed to pass.

Most of the time I just passed on the left like I was supposed to. Understand that also, most of the time, I drove ungoverned rigs.

Passing the center-lane slowpoke in the left lane won't work in Cally, of course. You have to get around him on the right or stay where you are. I was a bad boy once and tried to fly by on the left, but I had to make a 110-dollar donation to California. I'd still not pass anybody on the right, even in CallyLand, home of the fascists.

I can't say about your truck. But, I live near a truck manufacturer's testing grounds, and their test show loaded trucks stop quite a bit faster than empty trucks.
