I have a 1989 Peterbilt 379 EXHD. I bought a complete 20K dual steer box front axle cutoff. It was suppose to be what I needed to drop my axle out, bolt on boxes and install springs and axle. But that is not the case. I was sent set back axle front end. I'm going to use the top springs of my old stack to make spring work.
The issue I'm having is coming up with the draglink for the righthand side. So was trying here to see if someone here could supply me with a part# or vin# to use to find the correct part.
Would appreciate any help. Thanks Manley

Bean Jr. Thanks this.

The drag links that came with cutoff are to long because it is a set back axle. Mine is standard set forward axle.

Big Road Skateboard Thanks this.

Worst case Ontario you could probably just measure the length and find an adjustable one that fits. Hopefully it doesn't need some funky bend in it to clear the tires.
Bean Jr., Big Road Skateboard and Last Call Thank this. -
It looks to me like the factory left hand drag link will be the correct one. But haven't been able to come up with the right hand side drag link #.
It's the same length as LH, just ends are turned opposite direction. -

These drag links aren't threaded to be able to turn ends. They are molded with bends and tie rods in a set position.

Do you have access to a 379 of that generation that is set up the way you are trying to accomplish? Doesn’t have to be exact year but same basic model and configuration within maybe a 5 year range. Using that trucks vin my get you in the ball park and closer to the right direction for part #’s. This is kinda what @Last Call was getting at.

You really need to contact a Peterbilt dealer and explain what you are trying to accomplish and you better have The last 6 digits of your ViN # when you are talking to them and the axle manufacturer also
