All combined i would say. I will take lower pay as long as I am not lied to, get decent equipment and get home when I need to. Mostly I just don't want to be lied to. If you can't get me home for 3 days tell me. If there is no freight then don't have me call back every hour. just tell me it's not looking good and call in the morning. As long as that dosn't happen every week I can live with it. I had a boss at one company, Roehl, that drove for 16 yrs or so then took to dispatching. He never sugar coated stuff and I appreciated it. If he had to put me on a crappy load he told me he would make it up to me and he did. I appreciated it and if I was not taken off of his board I might still be driving for them.

Thanks guys for the input. I try and play towards my drivers strengths since I have a mix of runs both local and regional and some like to be out for days and others not so much..

Equipment is awesome and pay is not too bad, but its hard work and I respect my guys for that.

I especially look towards my older drivers 50+ to mentor me. They are a wealth of info.

I always try to be upfront, honest and caring but stern as well. Its a fine line. Almost like raising kids.

Awesome forum, with lots of great info. Thanks.
