I think if you could see inside the thoughts of much of management, you would find they are more concerned with how drivers follow the rules, how they carry themselves, treat other people and how they dress.
I seriously don't think that management cares if you have a beard, mohawk or wear your hat backwards.
I wish I could grow hair! (at least on my head)

Emu, I'am in the same boat as you, I would be happy to have a mohawk on the top of my dome.

I thought truckers were required to have beards.

I think it'd be weird to work somewhere with a dress code...well a super strict one atleast. As far as my dressing goes , and this is outside of work as well...boots , jeans , long sleeve shirts or polo shirts...but where I come to being outside the box is my tattoos...I'm sleeved from shoulder to knuckles on both arms and hands...have my neck...my head...my face...inked up. I dont see a problem with people dressing or looking different...as long as its not flip flops , sweats , things like that when you get out at places....just my .02

But you represent your company and should want to do so in a positive manner. Your appearance and hygiene is also a reflection of yourself. Do you want people to think that you are a nasty, stinking slob?

Glad that I dont feel the same as you about this.
