Dressing appropriatly

Dress like the DOT cops (or a Marine). If they're looking in the mirror they'll treat you like an equal.

 

company supplied work shirt, Merrill mid height, water proof, hiking boot. light weight and comfortable. jeans or shorts. always carry a pen and paper. so many guys go in to shipper/receiver and don't have a pen to sign in or sign bills.

Keeping yourself neat and clean shows you have some self-respect. Some customers will notice it, most won't care. Get the freight and get out, you'll see a lot of it. You should do ok at TMC. It was a great company years ago but I don't know how they are now.

 

yeah, you never know who may be watching you at the truck stop or at a delivery, or even on the road
