Drilled all the holes in the new rails on the KW like that but I was too lazy to drive 2 hours one way to the nearest tool rental shop so I just stuffed it in the big D-handle Makita and sent it.

I drilled some holes in those spots. Ten years later... syphilis!

I’ve done 4 holes 2 in each side with a Milwaukee m12 and their drill bit. There really isn’t anything you have to rent. Just patience.

Maybe it was not your frames first time? Not judging. Just a thought.

If you want to make a poor man's mag drill you can rig up some ratchet straps so that it's pulling the drill into the frame , then as the bit works its way thru, you just get another click on the ratchet and keep finger on the trigger and let the drill do all the work..sure beats pushing against it with all your weight.. I start with a 1/4 inch bit to a 3/8 to 1/2.. Slow and steady ..
I just got done drilling out the frame for some frame ramps... I drilled from the inside to avoid taking the fenders off, but it could still work doing it from the outside..

I used a chain, spoon bar and an electric 1/2 inch drill some years ago……not my best idea. Bought a mag drill after that job. Best 636.00 dollars I ever spent

I was drilling holes in fifth wheel mounts, on angle iron, standing on frame rail. With a 3/4" Remington Drill and drill bit from the 60/70's. Sometimes the trigger would go in and fall to the side and hange up in the handle. Yes I knew this fault. I ended up with it stalled between my ankles and yelling for someone to unplug the F thing.

The fluted reamer bits are a lifesaver and 3/4" hand drills should be illegal.
