    WRONG.

The legal definition is as follows:

"Physical control" means being in the driver's position of the front seat of a vehicle or in the driver's position of a streetcar or trackless trolley and having possession of the vehicle's, streetcar's, or trackless trolley's ignition key or other ignition device.

You know everynthing is in moderation , IMO a person busts their ##### for 12 hrs + deserves a lil relaxation. Now with that being said (moderation ) is the most important !!!! However I do understand snitches looking for brownie points due to their slacking abilities or just plain don't have a life .

I have contracted work for myself for many years , tbh I have heard everything from amazing grace to how sweet it is as far as why I can't work today ! Had a guy show up on my porch asking for gas money for his mom was having a heart attack , I ask him wtf where is she , he explains in the car .... I look out there and she waves to me , really lol .

I know it's different , but really how much different a person comes on site frucked up with equipment that could possibly kill many before stopped . We all say to each his own but if I observe an idiot on my site flucking up , he gotta go with the quickness.

I do understand how trucking is so heavly regulated now days , but at the same time i do not understand how we can let so many other skills and trades go unregulated . A crane op can truly kill several people with the blink of an eye . In construction we can work 24/ 7 and no body says #### , worked hurricanes can prove it . Goverment standards meh , says enough .

That's all I got to say about that , rant over ....carry on :biggrin_25519:

Some people are to much in love with their drinking, be very careful, it can cause you to lose your truck driving job & or get a ticket that will cost you several dollars. And if you have any in your system & happned to be involved in a wreck, even if its not your fault, your in bit time trouble.

Once had a friend who was a big beer drinker, & a drag racer. On race day he would not touch a single beer until the last drag race. he said I tried it, & it ruins my reaction time causing me to lose the race. It takes very little alcohol to slow down your reaction time, & if its slow, you might not avoid that wreck.

Ok. Time for the voice of reason. ME....... Lol. One beer at the beginning of your break isn't going to affect your driving 10 hours later. BUT! There are drivers who snitch. It is what it is, some guy looking to brown nose showing "He's the company man!" You're also not allowed to have alcohol anywhere in the cab/sleeper area of the truck, per the rules. Best thing is to find a bar, have a beer, go to bed. You're really risking a lot with having alcohol in the truck, and some companies actually send out people to watch their drivers and see what their doing. Is the beer worth losing your job over? No. It's not. Things to take into consideration.

And it could be the driver who snitches lost his wife, child, in a wreck because of a drunk driver so anytime he sees someone drinking that looks improper, he reports it. I would not call him a snitch. I would call him a person looking out for the lives of those who are on our highways.

Well, emotions can make you do irrational things. Sure, people who endure such tragedies can get a real chip on their shoulder against alcohol in general, and people who enjoy it. But it's simply not rational, the vast majority of people who consume alcohol do not injure or harm people with their vehicles. In fact the vast majority of people who consume alcohol and drive will even never harm anyone albeit irresponsible. It makes about as much sense as losing a family member to diabetes and going around snatching candy bars and soda away from people.

MADD comes to mind. If i recall the story correct. One of the founders lost a kid due to a drunk on the roadway, She became a drunk herself and the MADD program was way outta control from her initial fight against drunk driving. now it's a billion dollar revenue generator for the country to stop drinking and driving.
