I don't neccessarily think education is the problem, its the indoctrination.

Teach the subject and keep your personal thoughts out of it.

Who in their day were much more in the minority.

Unfortunately that's the problem. The education is what brings the indoctrination.

If they could just teach the subject there would be no problem but from kindergarten through college and postdoctoral that's not what's happening.

Were the interns paid or were they expected to work for free? Was having an "internship" part of their required course work? Were they doing work that would teach them new skills that would be of use or were they used as menial labor?

The whole concept of internships has been perverted beyond recognition. Imagine being told to do a job, for no pay, that has no bearing on your career path, but is required to get the degree you need.

They were paid $12-13 an hour. It was a real job. People from outside interning could also fill the positions.

Laziest, group of self entitled people ever ever encountered in my life. It was honestly easier just to do everything myself then to even try to get these people to do anything. I did work with a few that were hard working and dedicated, but far and few between.

Can you find anywhere where I said that anybody making comments in this thread about how young people suck were old? Kind of ironic that you said I "assumed you were old" when I never said anything about the commenters in this thread being old.

You're right, we are the worst. The older generations are much better than us. We just really suck.

I got your back. Your generation has it's fair share of weirdos for sure but that's only because you weren't allowed to have a normal childhood.

I grew up in a free country, you didn't, I'm amazed by how many of you turned out normal in spite of that.

I agree with those who say that it is silly that a driver under 21 can drive 800+ miles across a state like Tx, but can't go from Texarkana, Tx to Texarkana, Ar.
Or any other line. Whether most of these will have the maturity and drive to go real OTR, remains to be seen, but I'm sure there will be some that become pretty good drivers. And just like the over 21 guys there will be a lot that won't.

On the other hand, I just have a hard time supporting anything that the ATA is lobbying for as something that is good for us.

Maybe we could meet half way and limit 18-20 year olds to drive to neighboring states so the mega fleebags can’t completely exploit them..... nah that will make to much sense for the government
