i currently run the firestone FS561 on my drives no complaints. I am needing some new tires and called the firestone has gone up 50 buck. There now 390 a piece. I asked if they had anything similar and he mention the Sampson GL283A tire. That is 279 a piece. Has anyone ran these tires? Just wondering how they will hold up compared to the firestone.

I wouldn't get Samsons unless you wreck a lot of tires in scrap yards or something, my truck had those on when I bought it and I get rid of them real quick, just rode like garbage to me.

I've been running Sampsons on a tri axle drop deck of mine. Best dam tires I've ever used in that application. They are wearing longer then the Michelin xze on my other drop deck.

I know it's not a drive tire application but seem like great tires

The guy I sold them to used them for trailer tires too. My dad has really good luck with Michelin retreads on his freightliner, I don't trust retreads on anything though.

Roadmasters here in south GA now cost almost as much as some of the higher dollar tires. I know of an outfit that puts Samson tires on all their hoppers. Hoppers are tough on tires. Tires wear in all crazy patterns. Squatted one way. Empty the other way. At least in the peanut world. The Samsons are cheap and considered disposable. They do a good job of handling the weight (blow outs are rare and usually the driver's fault).

I put Daytons on my last truck, I have Firestone 561s on my new to me truck, they were brand new when I bought it, and I will be going back to Daytons when the time comes, they rode great and wore better then these Firestones
