Do not curb your tires. Keep speed down on 100* days in the heat of the day. And of course proper inflation.
bergy Thanks this. -
Cross rotating them also helps quite a bit.
I do think the Chinese tires are hit and miss, but have come a long way in just a few short years. For some reason the Samson brand and GT brand is doing well with guys I know. That said, I only run them on my drives and NEVER on the steer axle. Michelins or the like on the front for me.Derailed Thanks this. -
I've never regretted spending the money for Michelins.
I can't say the same about Goodyear, Hankook, Kelly, Bridgestone, Firestone Continental, or my own capped casings.
I've never tried 726's, but at this point I'm done experimenting.Derailed Thanks this. -
In the past, i purchased a set of steer tires: Chinese brand tire, Ling Long. Where i ran over some road debris and a chunk of rubber came off my tire. The 5 mos. old tire displayed a few steel cords. (Today, i buy michelin tires...i need a proven tire.)

I have some mega tread recaps, never again. I'll pay twice as much for some decent virgins.

Well, decided to go with the Yokohamas today. We'll see how they work out. Truck runs down the road straight as an arrow now and wore the current drives down #### near perfect. Hopefully these will be the same.thinking about picking up a set of those dyna beads next time I see them just for the hell of it.

I put Double Coins on my Freightliner, ran them for a while, sold the truck and, a year or so later, they are still on the truck and, while not 100%, they have run out nicely and still have meat on them. On my Kenworth, I put Michelin caps on (after using a friend as a guinea pig) and they are doing nicely. Great tires and cost me roughly $1800 for the set. This, after I swore up and down I'd never run another set of caps after the last set of Bandags I bought in '93, where one came apart after 1500 miles.
Skate-Board Thanks this.
