Maybe your slack adjusters, try backing them off

OP, if you follow the above advice make sure your trailer brakes are set or if you're bobtail make sure the truck is in gear and/or the tires chocked. Also, if you're under the truck make sure the keys are in your pocket, not in the ignition.

    OK they're not frozen.
If you have air, have someone release the brakes on the tractor and see if all the brakes release. You can also do this solo, but you won't get to watch the slack adjusters move in and out. You can make a mark on the slack adjuster rods and see if they move when the brakes are released. Make sure you chock the tires.

Next is mechanical. You say a few move, then don't. A better description would help. Sounds like you are getting power from the transmission to the rear axles. You could have a destroyed rear differential, or a simple snapped axle shaft. Pretty tough to tell through the keyboard if you don't do a better job describing exactly what is going on.

Brakes worn out and they're stuck on the edge of camming over?
