There's a whole lot more coming than just the cameras from what I'm hearing.

To save on maintenance and wear and tear on my trucks.
To know what happened if one of my trucks is involved in an accident.
To be able to see which drivers are actually good based on facts as apposed to which drivers are liked based on their relationship with whoever.

For those of you constantly posting what you hear, rather than what you know, here's one for ya: This is a Discovery Channel job. The People of WalMart meets Ice Road Truckers. Can't wait to watch you guys on TV.:D

That said, if they put a camera in my truck I'll seek other employment.

You'd be surprised at the level voyeurs go to and the sheer number of them which exist in this country. It's a multi-million dollar business.

The following is from personal experience at my terminal: A seasoned driver just received a spanking new truck with a drive-cam and Quality Control monitoring (or whatever the heck it's called). In just THREE weeks he's triggered HUNDREDS of critical event recordings and camera recordings. While the playback of the footage clearly shows he is in control the camera is being triggered when it leans on curves and bends despite the fact he's within the speed limit. Events are also triggered when another vehicle pulls in front of you. The truck automatically slows down when this occurs to increase your safe space allowing enough space for another vehicle to slide in, triggering yet another critical event. It's a vicious circle which triggers the camera each time. Corporate headquarters is "looking into it."

New truck? Not me .... not by a long shot.Don't want nothing to do with the cameras or the new recording devices.
