First, I just tested out a week ago and was issued a 2012 T700...nice truck but, I also had to defunkify (rarudi's word) it from the former owner smoking. Outside of that, very happy with the way things arr going.

Cameras.......*sigh*......I feel strongly that there are much bigger things that we should be concerned about in regards to losing our freedom. We are already being watched by cameras everywhere we go, look around the places we deliver, the truck stops we go to, and the restaurants we eat at...cameras everywhere. We are already being watched constantly, and I can see most companies installing these in trucks so that the insurance companies lower their rates. I am just glad that I work for a company that is honest and straightforward about them and is not abusing them.

And there are many on this forum and working for this company that have fought for our (your) freedom that do n ot deserve to be called pathetic and weak.

Off the soap box now......lemme have it! Lol

    Dinomite Thanks this.

Trust me.....it's not that big a deal. Read some of the previous posts and you will realize that there isn't going to be some guy in an office watching you all day. Do your job, do it as you are taught, do it safely and you will be fine.

To me, it is a very big deal. If I get a truck with a camera, I will have to reconsider my options at that time. Being spied on, and that's what it is, just doesn't sit we'll with me.

They do watch you, trust me even when you,re doing your job, I can agree with the camera pointing out but the one facing the driver is a little much for me, a couple weeks ago I wake up in the middle of the night to my surprise the unit was still on, this was on the weekend don't know if weekend dispatch forgot and just left in on I really felt uncomfortable. I understand its their equipment and they can do whatever they please. I believe this is all insurance related to all those accidents last winter Millis protecting their as ssets

Wannabee! sorrry but do you always listen to people who B.S you the Cameras are not going to make anything safer you want to talk about driver distractions how about not being able to relax and feeling your being watched picking your nose ect ect. safety my #####. Edit talked to millis recruiter only some trucks have them and they only switch on when the sensor triggers..rapid lane change hard braking-following to close sensor ect.. so feel a little better although still don't like the idea much. but if your triggering the sensor your not driving very safely.. thats the whole idea get rid of drivers before an accident. see their point, but won't like it if my truck has one......................:biggrin_25513:

    No they don't.
They can't , even if they wanted to.
Use some common sense please , do you really think even if they could someone would want to watch a driver for tens of hours so they could catch the odd nose pick or ball scratch?

They are recording 24hrs. a day, No someone doesn't watch "you" necessarily all the time, but they can if they so choose! (When I say they I don't mean the trucking company, its whatever camera company they are using). Do your research, the programs are pretty sophisticated and at times you may be being watched, probably briefly but....................

Which is very true a third party outfit monitors the camera and reports to Millis there findings, such as drivers texting while driving, talking on the phone ect
