as far as GPS options go --
I have used CoPilot - liked it, a lot, except it sent me down a few to many cow trails and a few to many really stupid routes that annoyed the hell out of me. the maps are DL so even without a signal your good. and thier support sucks
SmartTruck - Liked it also but was a bit to busy and seemed to use a lot of data on me. Offline maps, i beleive? and support seems good.
RandMcnally - I have the 740 now, its a nice stand alone, works as an adroid base, but it seems to suck for traffic, and its maps are generally 1-2 yrs behind on updates. there has been a lot of talk and complaining about this. the re-routing based on traffic stinks. and it needs a constant wifi conection to use the traffic. thats where Google or Waze come in - traffic and reroutes.
I am going to go back to trying SmartTruck2 and see how it is as a direct side by side with the RM740.
but STexan is correct Google is NOT a Truck GPS on its own, its a supplement and a #### good one
if only Google would make a truck GPS, then the rest would be in trouble
Driver Apps?? Which ones help you most?

lol
It adds up all your hours and does all the math for your recap if youre on paper. Basically a fancy calculator lol
Its called "recap+" I think -
KeepTruckin for logs- rock solid app.
NASTC for fuel- big money saver.
Cat Scale Weigh My Truck App- Always connects which is amazing. Saves from waiting in line.
TruckerPath - use it less and less everyday due to zero accountability, people try to game the system & anonymously mark places as "full" to try and keep others from taking available spots. They have a major data integrity issue in that regard, making it almost worthless for any real time info. Users have even started flagging Rest Areas as occupied by DOT to try "save" themselves a parking spot / stall.
DAT Loadboard App- only one I subscribe to but use it only occasionally. -
Im no
I have not seen any real issues with TruckerPath myself -

Google Maps / Google Earth
I do verify the route and it is great on Google Earth to see customer layouts like Costcos or Wal-Marts and workout
Also Trucker Path and Weather Radar or Pandora Music, Podcast Addict, and Audible. -
One trick on Google Maps is to select your mode of transportation as a Bicycle. Not kidding, it will give you the total elevation climb and decent of the route. Great for deciding on which route to take when you're heavy. As with all Google- verify route with a Truck Atlas.

Where or how would i get info on them? my current card is pretty good, i get 15-35 cents a gallon off now. but ill take better -
I really like the catscale weigh my truck app. You dont even have to get out of the truck if you dont want to. It shows you your weights right there and emails you a scale ticket. You can go in and get a paper copy if you want. I only do that if I'm over and have to return to get shipper to adjust the load. And it bills my company directly so i dont have to turn in reciepts for reimbursement.
