    We understand ex trucker gpsman:
your drove for 6 years then got kicked out of the
    industry for whatever reason.
Now you come on this forum and take out your
    resentment on other drivers because
Where still doing the job you love but
couldn't cut the mustard,so to speak.

Let it go,move on with your life.

Red herring by pure ad hominem always make for a sparkling rebuttal, and a useful post..

Care to give it another shot...?

What is there about how to drive a truck do you think is some sort of secret that any 16 y/o licensed motorist cannot easily discern is how it shouldn't be done...?

I want a dash cam for just that but one like yours facing forward only. Problem I got with these companies they want one on the driver. So they can see you reaching for your drink, looking away, on the cell phone, no seat belt, or falling asleep. If your looking at your mirrors and stuff hits the fan your technically distracted or you adjust the the radio and reach for it your distracted. They cannot tell what your looking at. My run in with this was I was using my cell phone gps. They said I was texting, I said no I was using GPS for the job. They said WELL you were operating a handheld electrically devise end of story I was distracted. Luckily I was not in a accident but enough to get the boot due to it, I was the first one they caught with the cam they installed in less then two weeks, made an example out of me. Lesson learned but I realized I was pretty paranoid when having one. I'm fortunate my new current company gave me a chance and said it was considered minor blemish in their eyes at the time compared to my driving record. Pays to have good experience and work for the right companies.

I know its messed up, but - when voluntarily signing up for a job, frequently people forego legal rights that would otherwise be ironclad. US has a lot of work to do. The only legal recourse here, is go work somewhere else...

I wouldn't be able to stomach a camera spying on me all the time ....wtf ?
Tell this company to save the money for drivers bonuses instead of being so ridiculous and running drivers off ...ask how would feel about putting a camera in their bedroom for drivers to watch them

This thread reminds me of an old Dilbert cartoon. The cliff note version....

"Employees are our most valuable asset, but like most assets, they depreciate over time. So as you leave the meeting today, you will be handed you certificate of depreciation."

How do you feel about using a front-facing camera to spy on motorists all the time, without the motorists' knowledge or consent?

Those aren't drivers, and they got mostly nowhere to run and a shrinking window... but drivers don't care where they go, as long as they go, the sooner the better. They sully the reputations and images of drivers, carriers, and the industry in general.

Drivers have no problem understanding why a carrier would want a camera for drivers; so they can go to court and say "Watch this, this guy was doing everything right".

All these "camera in my sleeper" posts/equations accomplish is providing conclusive evidence the poster has no valid argument or they wouldn't bother forwarding that one... if you don't include embarrassing me.

Some people's imaginations seem to easily get the best of their rationality.

The not so funny thing is it's true. " Experience", in occupations where raises are granted by experience, quickly becomes a liability.

In trucking, the greater your wages, the more a company wants to replace you with a rookie. They've been getting loads from A to B on time same as veterans for 50 years.
