So you have a driver cam and no forward facing dash cam? I did make the assumption that you guys would have sprung for both units and not only the one facing the drive. Silly of me to assume.
-
The forward cam doesn't show the driver texting, napping, eating, etc.
10 out of 10 at fault accidents by my drivers were repeat offenders of hard brakes, over speeds, excessive lateral forces (hard lane changes or jerking the wheel to bring the truck back in its lane or back on the road) 100% were texting -
There would have to be a forward facing camera otherwise how could they view impact and the light status not to mention a second pov for context.
just a view of driver tells us nothing of the other drivers actions and without that perspective you have only a video snippet of an excited CMV driver. -
And what would a lawyer do with those videos?
Cut the check; no videos harder to make a case against your company. I guess we are not the only ones who have much to learn.drvrtech77 and Pedigreed Bulldog Thank this. -
It shows 8 seconds of green light. The green light was not on the drivers face. It's a single unit. You're against something you don't even understand.
-
The driver facing cam would not have shown that the light was green, only the front facing cam.
'Can not look at the driver when ever we want'.
?
Not in real time, no.
But there is the ability to download and view any file stored in the camera's memory.
That can be at least an hour of video with a small 4GB capacity.
And it is continuous, otherwise it could not send several seconds before and after an event is detected.
Maybe it is YOU that needs to LEARN something!
Or maybe simply stop trying to BS people that know better?Little Eddy Thanks this. -
I am not understanding your set up in the trucks. It sounds as though you put in only driver facing cams to weed out your weedy garden.
-
My lawyers got on it day 1 and minimized the damage. A truck doesn't need to be at fault to get out their check book.
It doesn't really matter. Until you get out your checkbook and buy your own equipment, your only choice to work for someone who hasn't installed them yet. If/when you do I will guarantee you will have one in your truck. -
It's a good thing I wouldn't ever choose to drive for you...
