I'm not even sure what your asking. If they are going to give you a bad reference, there's really nothing you can do about it. What are you going to pay them that will make them change their mind? The company makes more in a week than you will in your entire life.
At the end of the day, you made mistakes serious enough to warrant your termination. Suck it up, be honest about what happened with prospective employers, and move on.G.Anthony Thanks this. -
3 preventable's in 5 months??? Did they tell you they wouldn't report them???? Or they just haven't reported them yet?

Carolina Cargo might hire you. One driver posted he took home $800.00 last week working there; that's with bonuses included.

Chinatown Thanks this.

Platinum Sky, if I'm reading the situation correctly you had incidents that weren't reportable to DAC, such as preventable accidents. However, you likely had incidents that counted against you on the RA score, the internal "Risk Analysis" score. These include over speeding, hard braking events, taking turns too fast and causing the trailer to tilt, or having motorists phone in and report you for discourteous or unsafe driving.
In order to get fired from Swift you would have had to rack up an RA score well over 10. This would mean multiple incidents. An over speeding incident would score a 4 for example. Tilting a trailer would score an 8. Getting reported by a motorist would score a 4.
If any employer contacts Swift I think they would simply find out you aren't eligible to be hired again. IMHO you would have to be able to convince a new employer that each incident was either justified and/OR that you learned from your mistakes and have turned over a new leaf.
There's nothing like hanging out in the driver manager's offices and overhearing conversations with drivers that have multiple incidents on their RA score. At SOME point you have to start figuring out that you can't get away with it. Over speeding... well, if you go with a company that either doesn't govern their trucks or has a higher setting on their governed speed that's not so bad. You can explain that you were practicing to deliver loads on time with THEIR schedule.
However, if you kept tilting trailers with high speed turns or had hard braking events I wouldn't touch you. In that case you are driving way too close to the edge and are a razor's edge from killing someone.x1Heavy Thanks this. -

I can understand 1, maybe 2 accidents in your first year, but any more than 2 is just too much.

and what exactly is "driver fact"? Never heard of that at Swift.
If you're getting rejected by other companies it's for a lot more than you're owning up to. Sounds more like you screwed up and they cut you loose..for good reason.Brandson Thanks this. -
I think Swift did the right thing, I get this just by reading this persons post.
