Hey! How's it going? I've been with swift for almost 2 months. I got into trucking for their school program and the thought of not being micromanaged. But this dashcam is starting annoy the #### put of me. I'm a great driver, I can back into docks and truckstops but I guess I'm a speeder on downhills . I've racked up 13 points for letting my truck go over governor speed limit when going downhill because usually its a straight highway, or there are other tractor-trailers behind me. How does that drivecam point system work? And should I just go to 9th gear and hold up traffic behind me and engine brake all they way down like a super safe driving nerd. I will for sure be going to a smaller company without that camera ########. I ####ing hate that thing.

    IluvCATS and Lepton1 Thank this.

What is their overspeed warning set at and how fast are you going down the hill?

They’re just looking for ways to keep pay raises and bonus payouts minimized. If it’s not over-speeding down hills, it will be something else.

Where I am, 80 mph will stop your quarterly safety bonus but I’ve never hit this. But a 70 or lower threshold is just BS

ok, so you over speed going downhill, but you are a great driver??

so you rear end someone in front of you cuz, you over speed downhill, but you are a great driver?

seems to me, you learnt nuffin in school.

if you do not know how to go downhills, i certainly ain't gonna tell you, cuz you're a great driver.

camera has nothing to do with over speed warnings.

that comes from the engine telemetry, hooked up to the whole camera and driving monitoring system.

they can tell cornering fast, hard braking, ect.

when a "tattle tail" event occurs, everything that is monitored,( cameras, engine, suspension, ect) is sent to the people who review it. they then determine if it was driver head-up-butt syndrome or something else causing said event.

Oh, and just drive slower. your truck tells on you.

I had in a truck ,didn't bother me at all, it doesn't record and send 24/7, just when tripped. at night close the front curtain ,covering it up. they can monitor the truck stop all they want.lol

I'm guessing you don't drive a tractor trailer...I wouldn't do it if someone was in front of me #######. I know what my truck can handle. I'd rather not engine brake and smoke my brakes if i can help it.
