Should the driver pool be limited?

Reading comprehension (english), basic problem solving skills related to math and problem understanding is certainly not too much to ask in my opinion. But you'd get in legal trouble if they found out you "discriminated" against some because of any reading and math test results, which is odd because colleges and military discriminate all the time against those who can't meet or surpass certain standards dependent upon the position sought.

IQ tests can be misleading. There should be a test for common sense. Even though common sense ain't very common anymore.

I think a test for impulsiveness would do. I imagine many a poor decision has been made in haste.

Common sense never was. Its truck driving. Don't hit #### and be on time. Figure out hours of service so you can let your dispatcher know when on time is. Other than that don't run the tanks empty to often.

I’ve got another 6 days of CDL school. Class started at 25-26 students only 12 left. I get the feeling 3 more won’t make it.

    Reasons people aren’t succeeding:
    1. Didn’t study
    2. Didn’t pay attention
    3. Hit something with a truck
    4. Drug test issue
    5. Paperwork issue
    6. Minimal grasp of the English language
    7. Didn’t listen to instructions
    8. Stopped showing up
    9. Got “sick” and missed too many days
    10. Fear, self doubt, scared

The list above sounds like high school.

The people still in class and getting ready for the test are what you’d expect of someone trying to become a professional. Dedicated, responsible, takes constructive criticism well, motivated, and asks questions.
