What gives them the right is they are a private business. Don’t like it. Don’t do business with them.

They look real for sure but the only concern I would have is they don’t have the star on them showing they are the current “approved to move around the country” license. But like you said if they are just going thru the motions of the job maybe they won’t care enough to notice.

Here's a fake Las Vegas marriage certificate.
Might be a good way to avoid alimony later.

They're too lazy and uninformed to check anything.

I despise this practice. I've refused to fuel when asked for my license while pumping, I'll go somewhere else thank you. I'm all for an "alternate" ID to hand shippers & receivers. I had a company ID made even though it's just me but I like the idea of an "alternate somewhat authentic" looking piece of plastic.

I took my real ID Drivers license and made a color copy of it, Changed the address to match the local Sheriff's Station, Changed the license number by shorting the numbers and adding a letter. I keep it on a lanyard with my TWIC, Post Office ID, ,Creech/Nellis AFB ID. I have never had them not be happy with it.
Shippers / Receivers are not entitled to your drivers license, your company should issue a company ID to cover that situation. I would never give my real ID to a shipper, receiver or security guard. There policy only covers there employee's, since there policy requires it, and your not an employee it means nothing to you.
I have had dispatchers tell me to give it up, and I tell them know this is a itme for them to work out with the customer, has noting to do with me. Just like I never sign my name to a BOL, I sign shipper load and count.

Excellent. My Post Office ID was good enough that they (USPS) issued a bar(scan) code and attached it to the badge making it legit. It would be very rare for anyone to know you made your own company ID.

You are exactly right. They will continue the practice if all they get is a bunch of mouth service from drivers. The minute they have to pay out money, it will change quickly.

What did you use when you copied it? Thin plastic? Did you do 2 sides?

    Coffey Thanks this.

I was hoping that the covid thing would help put an end to needing to hand someone other than a cop a license or even a credit card in some cases to still have to be swiped by a clerk. Since everything around us has become hazmat and no one wants to touch anything anymore maybe we have hope.
I heard the talk of chipping humans start up again with this subject as one of the reasons. But thats a whole other can of worms that I don’t agree with.
