These truckstop speeding issues have grown dramatically with many craphole fleets that use ELDs and drivers do stupid stupid things in a hurry to beat the device clock.

Just look at the last two years of heavy truck crash rates !!

 

You’re absolutely right, just a few years ago the only trucks speeding through truck stops were Werner trucks, now everyone does it.
If we can get rid of elogs we can go back to driving 16 to 20 hours a day and not be in a hurry, then at the end of the day we can make it look legal.

 

The funny thing is, soon everyone will be one these ELD drivers.

 

Never cross in front of a vehicle unless you make eye contact with the driver.. I use the same logic at 4way stops .. whether your big(53foot trailer) or small as a person I find eye contact helps due to so many people worrying about other issues and not seeing you as they move forward

 

I see plenty of "non eLog" drivers do stupid crap too, both on the road and in the truck stops. This notion that "eLog drivers" do the bulk of the stupid crap is ridiculous but considering there are more eLog trucks on the road than non eLog trucks, that might factor into the perception.

 

Thre elog doesn't made drivers do stupid things. Their lack of brain power does those stupid things.

 

That's the real world result of ELD. I'm not sugar coating it for you.
